We use print on demand, which means products are printed in the seconds after an order is placed. This means overproduction and waste are reduced, and only make what people need, when they need it. When an order is placed, it is automatically routed to the factory closest to you This saves transport costs, lowers emissions and saves time, as well.
Inks are mixed in real time so there’s no waste. Our supplier uses water-based, GOTS and Oeko-Tex certified inks in their printers. This means the print can be removed from the product at the end of its use, to retain more of the valuable material, and eliminate the waste and pollution that would be created by other types of dyes.
2 million tonnes of textile waste is produced every year. 40% of all clothing production never utilised. By using a print on demand model we are able to avoid those issues, by only producing what’s needed when it’s needed.
What kind of fabrics, dyes and prints are used to make products?
We use a certified organic company, using low-waste digital printing tech and inks that conform to the GOTS/Soil Association organic criteria. The printing technology allows for an almost unlimited range of colours, and provides a quality feel. The inks contain no animal derived products and are not tested on animals.
Packaging
All orders are shipped in eco-friendly, sustainable packaging, designed with the environment in mind and made with natural materials. They are rip-proof, splash-proof mailers made from paper.
Care Instructions
We recommend a cool wash at 30 and hang drying products, to ensure print and product quality and longevity.
Our products are not suitable for high temperature washing, tumble drying, bleaching or dry-cleaning. Avoid ironing straight onto the printed designs. These methods can cause unwanted shrinkage, the inks to fade, or the prints to crack, flake or peel.
What Makes Our T-Shirts Sustainable?
Our products are made from certified organic cotton, powered by renewable energy and every product is designed to come back when it’s worn out – new products are made from the material we recover.
Art Prints
We have different types of art prints available. The options include:
- 300gsm recycled paper heavyweight stock art prints
- Recycled (rPET) canvas
- 210gsm matte fine art poster prints made from FCS-certified recyclable paper
For prints which have a framing option, frames are FSC-certified timber,
FCS certification means that the paper and frames are made from responsibly sourced materials that comply with a wide range of social and environmental standards.
The art prints are printed using a digital press. The ink used is Ricoh ‘liquid powder’ toners, which come in recyclable cartridges and packaging.
Mugs
Our mugs are made from superior quality heavy weight natural ceramic with a super hard dishwasher-safe coating. Bright white in colour and with a high gloss finish.
One of the most exciting things about them is that we’ve been able to create robust plastic-free packaging which protects the mugs during shipping. With products like mugs, breakage is a big cause of waste. Usually, manufacturers use polystyrene to prevent it but this is wasteful and ends up in landfill. Instead, we use recycled and recyclable packaging, protecting mugs using natural materials, and reducing waste from breakage.
